Chela privacy: processing, storage, and your choices

Start with the processing boundary

Chela supports offline recording, followed by online sync and AI processing. It is not a self-hosted transcription server or an entirely on-device AI system. Encryption in transit and at rest should not be interpreted as zero-knowledge processing.

Use the documented policy

Read the privacy policy for collection, processing, retention, and deletion details. For requirements such as data residency, a corporate processing agreement, or a specific compliance configuration, get written confirmation from support@chela.io. This page does not certify those requirements.

If you need local processing

The Whisper project documentation explains local installation and transcription. It is a separate tool, not a Chela integration. A recording app’s offline capture mode alone does not establish that its AI runs locally.
